COMPARE:

CallHippo or KrispCall for a business phone

CallHippo and KrispCall both do giving a distributed team local phone numbers, and this page puts them on the same seven questions. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors. We have nothing of our own in this category, so this page is two products and no pitch.

The verdict

CallHippo has the wider country list and the cheaper seat. KrispCall puts calls, texts and WhatsApp on one thread, which is the thing a shared team inbox actually needs.

Side by side

CallHippoKrispCall
What it actually doesGives a team local phone numbers, a dialer and call recording, with the CRM logging attached.Runs a business phone line with calling, SMS and WhatsApp against one shared contact timeline.
Coverage and hit rateNumbers in a long list of countries, a power dialer, call recording and transcription.Numbers across many countries, and a unified thread that puts a call and a text on the same record.
What it costsPer user per month for the seat, with each number and its minutes billed separately.Per user per month, with numbers and usage on top, and a lower entry tier than most of its rivals.
How it fits a workflowNative integrations into the common CRMs log the call and the recording onto the record.A shared inbox a whole team works, plus CRM integrations and a webhook for the rest.
Where the data comes fromYour own calls. It provides the line, not the list.Your own calls and messages. It provides the line, not the list.
What it takes to set upA day or two, and longer where a country wants documents before it will issue a local number.Under a day for a number you can buy instantly, longer where regulation requires paperwork.
Where it stopsCall quality is carrier dependent and the reviews on it are mixed in a way the marketing is not.The reporting is thin. A manager who wants call analytics will find it lighter than it looks.

The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.

Where each one genuinely wins

  • CallHippo wins on coverage and hit rate, what it costs. A cloud phone system aimed at a sales team that needs numbers in many countries.
  • KrispCall wins on what it actually does, how it fits a workflow, what it takes to set up. A cloud phone with a unified inbox for calls, texts and WhatsApp in one thread.
  • Nobody wins on where the data comes from, where it stops. CallHippo and KrispCall give the same answer on those, and we are not going to invent a difference.

What is best for you

Both of these are reselling the same underlying carriers, so the marketing claims about quality are worth very little from either. Choose on shape. If you need numbers in a dozen countries and you are dialing out, CallHippo covers more ground for less. If two or three people share one line and customers reply on whatever channel they feel like, KrispCall's single thread is worth more than the price difference. Test the country you actually call before you commit either way, because the quality varies by route and no review will tell you about yours.
