COMPARE:
Outgrow or Typeform for interactive lead capture

The verdict
Outgrow is built for calculators, outcome quizzes and recommenders that trade an answer for an email. Typeform is the form builder people enjoy filling in. If the visitor wants a number or a recommendation, Outgrow. If you want answers to questions, Typeform.
Side by side
| Outgrow | Typeform | |
|---|---|---|
| What it actually does | Builds interactive quizzes, calculators, assessments and recommendation tools that capture a lead before the result. | Builds conversational forms and surveys, one question per screen, with logic and scoring. |
| Coverage and hit rate | Calculators, outcome quizzes, graded quizzes, polls, chatbots and product recommenders from one account. | Forms, surveys, quizzes, lead forms and payments, with a large integration list. |
| What it costs | Per month in tiers set by leads and features, with calculators on the higher plans. | Per month in tiers set by responses, with a free tier that caps responses tightly. |
| How it fits a workflow | Pick a format, build the logic, embed it, and push the leads into your CRM or email tool. | Build in the editor, share a link or embed it, and send responses to the tools you already run. |
| Where the data comes from | The answers your visitors give, which is first party data and the whole point. | The answers your respondents give. |
| What it takes to set up | A day for a quiz. A calculator with real formulas takes longer. | Minutes for a simple form. |
| Where it stops | It is for interactive content. A plain survey or an application form is cheaper elsewhere. | Calculators with real math and product recommenders are possible and awkward, which is the gap the specialist fills. |
The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.
Who wins what
- Outgrow wins on what it actually does, coverage and hit rate. A builder for quizzes, calculators and assessments that collect leads in exchange for an answer.
- Typeform wins on what it costs, how it fits a workflow, what it takes to set up. A form builder that asks one question at a time, used for surveys, applications and lead forms.
- Nobody wins on where the data comes from, where it stops. Outgrow and Typeform give the same answer on those, and we are not going to invent a difference.
Both products
The honest answer
A business whose best lead magnet is a cost calculator, an ROI estimate or a which plan is right for me quiz should use Outgrow, because that logic is the product. Typeform can do a quiz and fights you on real math. For surveys, applications and lead forms, Typeform is the nicer experience and the faster build, and its free tier is enough to test the idea. Decide what the visitor gets at the end before you choose the tool.
