What each is actually better at
- Prospeo wins on what it costs, what it takes to set up. An email finder that works from a LinkedIn URL or a name and domain.
- Apollo wins on coverage and hit rate, where the data comes from. A contact database with a sequencer bolted on, sold as one seat.
- People Finder wins on how it fits a workflow. Finds the people at a company and verifies their addresses in the same run.
- Nobody wins on what it actually does, where it stops. Prospeo and Apollo give the same answer on those, and we are not going to invent a difference.
Where to get them
What we would actually do
Apollo makes sense when you do not yet know who to contact and you want to browse a market. Prospeo makes sense when the list of people already exists and you need addresses against it. Where teams waste money is buying Apollo seats to use as an enrichment API, which is expensive per record and gives you the same contacts everyone else exported this month. If the list comes from your own research, a per find tool is both cheaper and less crowded.
