COMPARE:

Leadfeeder or Clearbit Reveal for website visitors

Leadfeeder against Clearbit Reveal for finding out which companies visited the website, with the same seven questions asked of each and neither one flattered. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors. We have nothing of our own in this category, so this page is two products and no pitch.

The short answer

Leadfeeder is a product you can still buy on its own. Clearbit Reveal is now part of HubSpot, so the question is really whether you are on HubSpot.

The same questions, both tools

LeadfeederClearbit Reveal
What it actually doesMatches website visits to companies by IP and reports which pages each one read.Identifies the company behind a website visit and hands the firmographics to the rest of your stack.
Coverage and hit rateCompany level, not person level, and it resolves a good share of business traffic in Europe.Strongest in the United States, and the firmographic record behind the match is deeper than most.
What it costsPer month, banded by how many companies it identifies rather than by traffic or by seat.Sold inside HubSpot now, so the real price is the HubSpot tier that carries it.
How it fits a workflowA script on the site, then a feed into the CRM or into Slack when a target account shows up.Built into HubSpot, which is either the reason to buy it or the reason not to.
Where the data comes fromIP to company matching against its own database, plus your own analytics. Its own company graph, which is the part that survived the acquisition.
What it takes to set upAn hour. Install the script and wait for traffic to accumulate.Trivial if you are already on HubSpot, and a migration if you are not.
Where it stopsIt names the company, never the person. Remote workers and consumer connections resolve to nothing useful. It is no longer a product you can buy on its own, and standalone access has been wound down.

The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.

Who wins what

  • Leadfeeder wins on what it actually does, what it costs, what it takes to set up. Turns anonymous website traffic into the names of the companies that visited.
  • Clearbit Reveal wins on coverage and hit rate, how it fits a workflow, where the data comes from. Company level visitor identification, now sold as part of HubSpot's Breeze Intelligence.
  • Nobody wins on where it stops. Leadfeeder and Clearbit Reveal give the same answer there, and we are not going to invent a difference.

What we would actually do

If you already run HubSpot, the Reveal data arrives inside the record you work in and buying a second tool is hard to justify. If you do not, Leadfeeder is the practical choice and it is stronger on European traffic, which matters more than the feature lists suggest. Set expectations before you buy either. This is company level identification, and the share of business traffic that resolves has fallen for years as people work from home. It tells you an account is warm. It does not tell you who to email, and a sales team handed a list of company names with no person on them will quietly stop opening it.
