COMPARE:
Clutch or GoodFirms for getting your agency found
Clutch against GoodFirms for getting an agency or service firm in front of buyers, with the same seven questions asked of each and neither one flattered. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors. We have nothing of our own in this category, so this page is two products and no pitch.

The verdict
Clutch has the buyers and charges for the top of the page. GoodFirms is cheaper and easier to rank on and sends fewer buyers. Most agencies list on both and pay for one.
Dimension by dimension
| Clutch | GoodFirms | |
|---|---|---|
| What it actually does | Lists service providers by category and location and ranks them on verified client reviews, with paid placement on top. | Lists agencies and software companies by category and ranks them on reviews and its own research. |
| Coverage and hit rate | Hundreds of thousands of firm profiles across marketing, development, design and IT services, worldwide. | A large directory with particular depth in software development firms outside North America. |
| What it costs | A free profile, with sponsored placement sold per category and location on a bid for the position. | A free listing, with paid plans for featured placement at a lower price than the larger directory. |
| How it fits a workflow | Buyers search, read reviews and request proposals. Firms collect reviews and answer leads. | Buyers browse and post projects. Firms list services, gather reviews and respond to project posts. |
| Where the data comes from | Client reviews gathered by phone or online and verified by its own team. | Client reviews and its own research team's scoring of each firm. |
| What it takes to set up | A profile in a day. Reviews take weeks, because a client has to sit an interview. | A listing in an afternoon. Reviews come in faster because the bar is lower. |
| Where it stops | Ranking well on a busy category page costs real money, and the leads it sends vary widely in fit. | Its buyer traffic is smaller, so a top position there reaches fewer serious buyers. |
The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.
What each is actually better at
- Clutch wins on coverage and hit rate, where the data comes from. The largest B2B directory of agencies and service firms, ranked on interviewed client reviews.
- GoodFirms wins on what it costs, what it takes to set up. A B2B directory of service firms and software, with a free listing and paid visibility plans.
- Nobody wins on what it actually does, how it fits a workflow, where it stops. Clutch and GoodFirms give the same answer on those, and we are not going to invent a difference.
Both products
The honest answer
List on both, because a free profile costs an afternoon. Spend money on Clutch when your buyers are in North America or Western Europe and your category page is where they shop, and expect to compete on bid for the top slots. GoodFirms is the better value for a development shop selling internationally, and its reviews are faster to collect. On either one, three recent detailed reviews do more than a paid badge. Track which leads become clients before you renew any sponsorship.
