COMPARE:

Close or Salesflare when nobody updates the CRM

Close and Salesflare both do running deals without anyone doing data entry, and this page puts them on the same seven questions. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors, and neither of these is one of them, so there is no third column on this page.

If you only read one part

Salesflare writes the record for you and stays out of the way. Close gives a rep a dialer and a queue and expects them to work it all day. Both fix data entry, from opposite ends.

Dimension by dimension

CloseSalesflare
What it actually doesPuts calling, email sequencing and the pipeline in one window so a rep works the list without switching tabs.Tracks deals and keeps the contact record current from your mailbox, calendar and phone without manual entry.
Coverage and hit rateBuilt in calling and SMS, multichannel sequences, a power dialer and pipeline reporting.Deals, contacts, email and calendar sync, email tracking and a reminder when a deal goes quiet.
What it costsPer seat per month, and calling minutes are billed on top of the seat.Per seat per month in three tiers, with the email finding credits gated to the higher ones.
How it fits a workflowThe inbox is the interface. Sequences, calls and tasks all queue into one list a rep works down.It watches the mailbox and writes the record itself, which is the reason to pick it.
Where the data comes fromYour own pipeline and your own dialing. It sells no contact data.Your own mailbox, calendar and phone, plus a light enrichment pass on the company.
What it takes to set upA few days. The dialer needs numbers provisioned and the sequences need writing. An hour. Connect the mailbox and it starts building the record from history.
Where it stopsIt is priced and shaped for a team that calls. A CRM for a founder who never dials is paying for the dialer.Small team software. Territory rules, quotas and a complex forecast are not what it is for.

The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.

Where each one genuinely wins

  • Close wins on what it actually does, how it fits a workflow. A CRM built around the call and the sequence rather than around the record.
  • Salesflare wins on coverage and hit rate, where the data comes from, what it takes to set up. A CRM whose whole pitch is that you do not have to fill it in.
  • Nobody wins on what it costs, where it stops. Close and Salesflare give the same answer on those, and we are not going to invent a difference.

The honest answer

This comes down to whether your team calls. If they do, Close is worth the money on the dialer alone, and the automatic logging is a side effect of the rep living inside it. If they do not call, you are buying a phone system you will never plug in, and Salesflare does the same upkeep job for less. One caution on Salesflare: its automation is genuinely good and genuinely quiet, so nobody notices when a field it guessed is wrong. Spot check the company records for a fortnight before you trust the reporting built on them.
