COMPARE:
Amplemarket or lemlist for multichannel sequences
Amplemarket and lemlist both do running email and LinkedIn steps in one sequence, and this page puts them on the same seven questions. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors. Clay to Instantly Smartlead Push is ours, it is the third column, and it does not win most of these rows.
The verdict
lemlist is a sequencer a small team buys per seat and runs the same week. Amplemarket is an outbound platform a sales team buys on a contract and configures over a couple of weeks. Team size decides it.
Dimension by dimension
| Amplemarket | lemlist | Clay to Instantly Smartlead Push | |
|---|---|---|---|
| What it actually does | Finds contacts in its own database, then runs email, LinkedIn and call sequences with AI drafted copy and reply triage. | Runs a multichannel sequence where one step is an email, the next a LinkedIn action, the next a call task. | Moves a finished list into an Instantly or a Smartlead campaign, with the rules applied on the way in. |
| Coverage and hit rate | A B2B contact database, intent and job change signals, a multichannel sequencer and a deliverability layer, all in one account. | Three channels in one timeline, plus warmup and a lead database sold on the same account. | Both senders, one payload shape, and a dry run that returns the exact body without sending it. |
| What it costs | Per seat per month on an annual contract, quoted by the sales team, with data credits and mailbox counts as the levers inside it. | Per seat per month, in tiers, with the lead database and the warmup pool gated to the higher ones. | A cent per lead pushed, and nothing at all for a dry run. |
| How it fits a workflow | Search, build a list, sequence it, work the replies. It wants to be the whole outbound desk rather than one step of it. | Its own editor is the workflow. The API exists and is the thinner half of the product. | It is the step between the list and the sender, called from Clay or from a script. |
| Where the data comes from | Its own database plus signals it collects, refreshed from usage, so accuracy varies by region and by how senior the target is. | It carries a contact database of its own, so a list can start inside the tool rather than outside it. | Your own rows. It adds no data and reads no provider. |
| What it takes to set up | Days rather than hours. Domains, mailboxes, LinkedIn accounts and the data filters all need setting up before the first sequence runs. | The multichannel steps need a connected LinkedIn account per sender, which is more to set up than email alone. | Paste the sender key, map your columns once, run the dry run, then turn it on. |
| Where it stops | It is sold to teams. A solo operator or a small agency pays for a lot of platform to send a few hundred emails a month. | Per seat pricing turns expensive the moment an agency runs it for several clients. | It does not send anything. Without a sender it has nowhere to put a lead. |
The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.
What each is actually better at
- Amplemarket wins on what it actually does, coverage and hit rate, how it fits a workflow. An AI assisted outbound platform with contact data, multichannel sequences and reply handling in one seat.
- lemlist wins on where the data comes from, what it takes to set up, where it stops. A sequencer that runs email, LinkedIn and calls in one sequence, with its own lead database.
- Clay to Instantly Smartlead Push wins on what it costs. Pushes a finished, scored list into whichever of the two you already send with.

What we would actually do
If you are under five people, lemlist. It does the multichannel steps well, the price is visible on the site, and you will be sending before Amplemarket has finished onboarding you. Amplemarket wins when the team is bigger, when reply handling is a real workload, and when you want the data and the sending under one contract. Whichever you pick, the sequence copy and the list quality decide the reply rate, and neither tool writes a good list for you.
