COMPARE:

AiSDR or Instantly when nobody writes the emails

A straight comparison of AiSDR and Instantly for running outbound without a person writing each message, answered on the same seven dimensions as every other compare page here. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors. Prospect Engine is ours, it is the third column, and it does not win most of these rows.

The short answer

AiSDR is the whole motion as a service, list and copy and replies included. Instantly is the sending layer and assumes you bring the rest. One is a hire, the other is a tool.

Side by side

AiSDRInstantlyProspect Engine
What it actually doesFinds prospects, writes the message per person and handles the reply thread without a rep touching it.Sends cold email sequences from a pool of mailboxes and keeps those mailboxes warm.Takes a market definition or a domain list and returns enriched company and contact rows.
Coverage and hit rateIts own contact sourcing plus a writing and reply layer, aimed at replacing the SDR rather than the tool.Mailbox pool, warmup network, inbox placement testing and a shared blocklist, in one account.Public sources, read directly, with the field's origin on the row.
What it costsA monthly subscription banded by how many emails the agent sends, not by seat.Per plan, with mailbox counts and monthly send volume as the two things that move the price.Cents per row, charged on a returned row rather than on an attempt.
How it fits a workflowIt is the whole motion rather than a step in one, so there is little to wire and little to control.Campaigns take a CSV or an API push. Replies land in a unified inbox that a human can work. One API call, or an HTTP column in Clay, and finished rows come back.
Where the data comes fromBought and licensed contact data, plus whatever it reads about a person to write the line.It sends. The lead data is yours, and its own lead marketplace is a separate paid product. The public web and public registers, named per field.
What it takes to set upA week of teaching it your offer and your objections before the output is worth sending.Connecting and warming domains is the real work, and it takes two to three weeks before you send.Point it at a market or a list of domains and run it.
Where it stopsYou are handing your voice to a model. A brand that cares how it sounds will spend the time editing. It is a sender. Deciding who deserves the email is a job you do somewhere else.It is not a table. Reviewing and editing rows is something you do elsewhere.

The same seven questions are asked on every compare page here, in this order, so two of these pages can be read against each other.

What each is actually better at

  • AiSDR wins on what it actually does, what it takes to set up. An outbound service where the agent writes the email and works the reply, not just sends it.
  • Instantly wins on coverage and hit rate, how it fits a workflow. A cold email sender with warmup and deliverability tooling in the same product.
  • Prospect Engine wins on what it costs. One call that finds the companies, enriches them and returns finished rows.
  • Nobody wins on where the data comes from, where it stops. AiSDR and Instantly give the same answer on those, and we are not going to invent a difference.

The honest answer

AiSDR is worth looking at when the alternative on your desk is hiring a junior SDR, not when the alternative is buying a sequencer. Priced against a salary it looks reasonable. Priced against Instantly it looks expensive, because it is doing four jobs and you may only need one. The part to test hard is the writing. An agent that reads a company page and writes a line about it produces copy that is technically personalised and reads like everybody else's. Everybody is pointing the same models at the same pages. If your reply rate depends on saying something a competitor cannot, no agent gets you there and the list is where the work actually is.
