USE CASE:

Working out which conferences your buyers actually attend

Everything below is about working out which conferences your buyers actually attend, and about which event presence method holds up on a list rather than one record. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors, and Event Presence Index is the one here that does event presence.

What is actually going wrong

Sponsoring the wrong event costs a quarter of a marketing budget and produces a bag of badges nobody follows up. The reliable way to pick is to look at where the companies you already sell to show up, as sponsors, as exhibitors, as speakers. That information is public and scattered across a few hundred event sites.

Traditional Search Tools

  • Ask your customers. Five calls answers this better than any dataset, and the answers include the events that are not worth attending, which no sponsor list tells you.
  • Event platforms and directories. 10Times and similar list events and exhibitors. Coverage is broad, depth on who actually sponsored is thin.
  • LinkedIn during the event week. People post from conferences. Watching the hashtag for a week tells you who was there and who cared enough to say so.
  • Read the sponsor pages. Pick the ten events in your category, open the sponsor list for the last two years, and see who repeats. An afternoon, and the pattern is usually obvious by the third event.

Mamba Labs Apify Actors

These are the actors we built for this job. If yours is not covered here, search from the bar at the top of the page or contact us here and tell us what you need.

Preconfigured tasks

A task is one of these actors with the inputs already filled in for a specific version of this job. Open one, swap in your own list, and run it without setting anything up from scratch.
