Where this starts
Macro influencers distort sponsorship scouting, for a reason specific to them. Macro influencers price like media buys, with contracts, usage rights and exclusivity terms, and sponsorship scouting inherits that. On macro influencers, sponsorship scouting rarely catches this: reach is real and engagement is diluted, so the cost per engaged viewer is often the highest of any tier. If you would rather try it than read about it, Creator Finder does sponsorship scouting for macro influencers today.
Why it matters
Every brand in the category is pitching the same visible handful of macro influencers, and their rates show it.
Traditional Search Tools
- An influencer agency, for macro influencers. The usual route at this size, and it adds a fee on top of the creator's.
- Modash. A large searchable creator database across Instagram, TikTok and YouTube with audience filters. Strong discovery, sold on a monthly subscription that suits a team running campaigns every month.
- TikTok One and the other platform marketplaces. Official, free to browse, and limited to creators who opted in. The ones who did not sign up are invisible there.
- An influencer agency. They bring a roster and the relationships, and charge a retainer or a share of the fee. Worth it for a launch, expensive as a standing way to find people.
- Search the platforms yourself. Type the niche into TikTok, Instagram and YouTube search, open every profile that looks right, and copy the handle and follower count into a sheet. About three minutes a creator, and the results depend on what each app decides to show you.
