The problem
If you sell newsletter ads, the best prospects already buy them somewhere else. If you buy them, you want to know where competitors place. Sponsor placements are public, printed in every issue, and nobody collects them. Reading two years of archives across thirty newsletters is the only way to see who pays and how often.
Traditional Search Tools
- Ad marketplaces such as Paved or Swapstack. They show inventory and some buyer data inside their own network. Placements booked directly never appear.
- Sponsor databases. A few paid trackers cover the largest newsletters. The long tail, where niche sponsors live, is mostly missing.
- Read the archives. Open each newsletter's archive and note the sponsor line in every issue. Accurate and slow. A year of a weekly newsletter is fifty two pages.
