Where this starts
A creator with a newsletter owns an audience no algorithm can take away, which makes them a different kind of partner. Newsletter sponsors, newsletter platforms and growth teams all want that list of creators. The signal sits behind a link in bio, a link page, a signup form on a personal site or a Substack, and no profile field records it.
Traditional Search Tools
- Substack and beehiiv discovery pages. Each platform lists its own writers by category. Free, and blind to every creator on a different platform or a self hosted list.
- SparkLoop and newsletter ad networks. They know the newsletters in their own network, with audience sizes. The network is the boundary, and most creators are outside it.
- Asking the creator. The answer is accurate and the list size is often generous. It takes a conversation per creator, which is exactly what a list was meant to avoid.
- Click through every link page. Open the link in bio for each creator and look for a signup form or a link to Substack, beehiiv or Kit. Note the platform. Two to four minutes a creator, longer when the link page needs a browser to load.
