USE CASE:

Keeping track of news coverage of a company

This page is about keeping track of news coverage of a company: what your options are for news monitoring, what each costs, and the one we would use. We are Mamba Labs, we build Apify actors, and News Media Mention Monitor is ours for news monitoring.

The problem

A competitor got written up in a trade outlet, a target account announced an expansion, and a prospect's CEO gave an interview. Each is a reason to reach out or a change to respond to. Google News has all of it. What it lacks is a way to get only the articles you have not seen, for a list of names, without reading the same story twice.

Traditional Search Tools

  • Media monitoring platforms. Meltwater and Cision cover news, broadcast and social with analysis. They are priced for communications teams on annual contracts.
  • Mention or Talkwalker Alerts. Cheaper monitoring with better coverage than free alerts. Still built around a handful of brand names rather than a target list.
  • Google Alerts. Set an alert per name and read the digest. Free and familiar. Alerts miss a lot and repeat syndicated stories.

Mamba Labs Apify Actors

These are the actors we built for this job. If yours is not covered here, search from the bar at the top of the page or contact us here and tell us what you need.
