USE CASE:
Finding the manufacturers and wholesalers behind a product
Everything below is about finding the manufacturers and wholesalers behind a product, and about which supplier sourcing method holds up on a list rather than one record. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors, and Manufacturer Supplier Finder is the one here that does supplier sourcing.

Where this starts
Sourcing a product or selling into a supply chain starts with a list of who actually makes or distributes it. B2B marketplaces are crowded with resellers posing as factories. Trade directories are paid and dated. The supplier's own website is the best evidence, and reading hundreds of them is the slow part.
Traditional Search Tools
- Alibaba, Global Sources or Thomasnet. Large catalogs with filters by product. Listings are self described, so trading companies and real factories look the same.
- Trade show exhibitor lists. Good quality and narrow, covering only companies that paid to exhibit this year.
- Sourcing agents. They know the factories and charge a fee or a margin. Worth it once you buy at volume.
- Search and read supplier sites. Search the product with words like manufacturer or wholesale in each country, then read each site to confirm. Expect half the results to be resellers.
