USE CASE:

Checking an influencer's real audience before you pay them

Everything below is about checking an influencer's real audience before you pay them, and about which audience vetting method holds up on a list rather than one record. Mamba Labs builds Apify actors, and Creator Profile Reader is the one here that does audience vetting.

Where this starts

A follower count is the number every creator deal is priced on and the number most likely to be wrong. Bought followers, a viral month two years ago, and an audience in a country you do not ship to all look identical in the headline figure. The check has to happen before the contract, because after it the money is gone and the post is up.

Traditional Search Tools

  • HypeAuditor. Audience quality scores and fake follower estimates per account, with demographic splits. The most cited tool for this check, priced per report or per month.
  • Social Blade. Free history of follower and view counts on the main platforms. It shows a suspicious jump clearly and says nothing about who the audience is.
  • Asking for native analytics. A screenshot of the creator's own dashboard is the only source of real demographic data. Ask for it every time, and expect a few to decline.
  • Read the last twelve posts. Open the profile, note views, likes and comments on the last twelve posts, and divide by the follower count. Ten minutes per creator, and it catches most bought audiences.

Preconfigured tasks

A task is one of these actors with the inputs already filled in for a specific version of this job. Open one, swap in your own list, and run it without setting anything up from scratch.
