Launching a hiring watch that charges per change
Who this was for. Us, and Store buyers who watch target accounts for new job postings and want an alert when one opens, closes, or comes back.

The problem
A hiring alert is only worth paying for when it reports what changed since the last look. A tool that returns every open posting on every run makes the buyer do the comparing, and charges for rows they already saw.
What we built
Account Hiring Watch on Apify reads a watch list's job boards on 17 job board platforms, compares each read with the last one, and returns only postings that opened, closed, or were reposted. It charges per real change. First reads, backfill, and boards it could not fully confirm are free.
What it produced
On its second live run, against a watch of about 50 company domains:
- 165 change rows: 125 new, 34 closed, 6 reposted.
- 158 charged, 7 free because their boards were unconfirmed, 0 charged as backfill.
- 7 of 7 rows matched the live board on a manual read.
- 0 rows repeated from any earlier run.
- 0.00399 USD of platform usage for the whole run.
What runs now
The actor went public on October 15, 2026, with its own MCP server on npm, the Official MCP Registry, and Smithery. A run can post each change to the buyer's webhook.
